Roofing FAQs
Straight answers to the questions people in Henleaze and north Bristol ask us most often.
Frequently asked questions
Do you cover my area?
We work in Henleaze, Westbury-on-Trym, Westbury Park, Southmead, Redland, Golden Hill, Horfield, Bishopston, Stoke Bishop and across the city and surrounding areas. If you are not sure, call and ask.
Are your quotes free?
Yes. Visits and written quotes are free, with no obligation.
How quickly can you come out to a leak?
For a leak that is actively coming in we aim to come the same day. Non-urgent work is booked at a time that suits you.
Do you publish prices?
No. Roofs vary too much for a price list to be honest. Our cost guide explains what moves the price, and every quote is itemised.
What guarantee do you give?
A 20 year written guarantee on qualifying work. The document sets out exactly what is covered.
My house is in a conservation area. Can I still get repairs done?
Usually yes. Like-for-like repairs do not normally need permission. Changing materials, adding rooflights to a front slope or building a dormer can. We check before quoting.
My house is listed. Does that change anything?
Yes. Most work that affects the character of a listed building needs listed building consent, including some roof work. Talk to us and to the council before anything starts.
Do you need scaffolding?
Not for most repairs. Where scaffolding is needed it is itemised on the quote.
Can you work on thatch?
Thatching is a specialist trade. If your roof is thatched, we will tell you so and recommend you use a thatcher.
Do you do flat roofs?
Yes, mainly in single-piece EPDM rubber membrane, for extensions, dormers and garages.
Do you deal with insurance claims?
We provide photographs and a written report of what we found, which you can give to your insurer.
Will you take my photos before visiting?
Yes. Send them with the quote form and we can often give a first opinion before we come out.
